For real, 2:30am-3am. A bit of positive insomnia. 😀

Sometimes the penalty for having a mind that is clear, focused, and determined, is sleep. For the past 20 years, I’ve had pretty poor sleep hygiene. Stress, work, life, etc. Consistent sleep has always alluded me. For the past month, I have been getting amazing deep and good sleep, but there are nights, like tonite, when my newly acquired sharper mind cuts into sleep.

Let me be clear, in the past, an idea would wake me up bolt upright. Not fully being healthy will do that to you. Kind of like having a car in neutral and then throwing it into reverse. Now it’s more like a motor that is running, in 5th gear, and having a hard time shifting it into neutral.

I have to give it to Brene Brown., the quote above stuck with me. Wouldn’t let me surrender to sleep. Why? Because of the challenges of our past and our present. If you truly put the work in, someday YOUR past will become somebodies present. I was asked recently why I decided to tell my story. Some said, “You’re brave!”. Others said, “oh hell no, TMI”. Some said, “I wish I had your courage”. Others have said. “You should keep that to yourself”. I’m fine with all of it.

My story will someday guide someone. I have been a coach for most of my adult life. I thrive in that environment. The past 5 years have taught me that every coach needs to learn. I sure have! Walk the walk. I’m trying to be the better version of myself each day. Even if it’s only .01%.

I’m on a great journey. Let me clear some of the trails for you so that we can all enjoy the journey together.

Tailwinds,

Chad
