Part 5: Looking into the mirror.

I have to admit it. Not a fan of the mirror. It reflects back the wrinkles near my eyes. The grey additions to my beard and the lessons that have been learned. ALL of these things we attribute to “getting older”. It doesn’t matter whether you are 25 or 75. Are you (me?) tackling each day as if it’s your best..maybe your last?

Let me be clear about the intentions of this post. I’m not talking six pack abs, sub 5 minute mile, biceps for days or legs that can outrun a gazelle. (Though, these “things” would be nice 😝).

I’m referencing the work that you have put in for your life. For your training. For your relationships. For you. Full Stop. I have a mirror that was just, well, a mirror. It had some “words of encouragement”, spiritual sayings, affirmations and other sayings on it, but I never really looked at it. Was I afraid of what I would see? Was it more of… “look at you Chad being all introspective”? I dunno.

What I do know is I’m growing more and more comfortable in my skin. I think it takes growth and work to find what you are looking for. You may NOT know you are looking for. Don’t worry. It will find you. Just be open. Don’t get discouraged when things go sideways. They will. They have. Do the work.

I can now look in that mirror. Scriptures, notes, sayings, affirmations removed. It’s just me and you Mr. mirror. I’m digging what I see. I hope you dig what you see.

Tailwinds,

Chad
