Tim started participating in endurance events in college when he and some friends decided to run an ultra-marathon (55km). He started cycling when, on an impulse, he purchased a mountain bike two days before completing an International Distance triathlon. After learning about XTERRA, he moved to off-road racing and competed at the National Championship in Lake Tahoe twice. Once he completed a half-ironman(on a road bike this time), he decided to hang up the goggles and running shoes and focus on racing bikes. Currently, Tim is a Cat-2 on the road and a Level 3 USA Cycling Coach.
